National Trust properties

There are many properties and open areas that are under the care of the National Trust.

The main properties in the area are Blickling Hall nr Aylsham, Felbrigg Hall nr Cromer, Sheringham Park, Horsey Windpump, Elizabeth House Museum at Great Yarmouth and St George’s Guildhall at King’s Lynn.

Areas where there are flora, fauna and sea birds to be seen are Morston Marshes, Stiffkey Marshes, Brancaster, Blakeney Point, West Runton woods and Beeston Regis Heath. It is advisable to check opening times. Their website provides these.

English Heritage properties

The staffed sites are Castle Rising Castle and Castle Acre Priory in the west and Great Yarmouth Row Houses, Berney Arms Windmill, Caister Roman Fort, and Burgh Castle in the east. Many of the sites are have free entry and are not necessarily staffed. These are Creake Abbey, Binham Market Cross, Binham Priory, Blakeney Guildhall, North Elmham Chapel, Cow Tower (Norwich), Baconsthorpe Castle.
